If something is wrong, then it's wrong.

It's not 'less wrong' because you have more money to spend.

The difference is massive, in both accuracy and damage done.

At the distance they were fighting at, both weapons were in range and therefore capable of doing lots of harm.

Yes, the ar style magazine fed rifle is going to have a higher caliber, more ammo (and therefore probably a higher rate of fire available)
but at that range, the power, accuracy, etc doesn't really factor as much because they were in close combat

A shot from the guard's pistol would be pretty much as "effective" in this situation as the rifle would be

Or so this is how my brother explained to me (major in the us army)

Sure, the guard absolutely could've got a pretty fair fight if he engaged within 20-30 yards. He can definitely win if things go his way. But engaging someone who's got a rifle when you only have a handgun is still far from a good scenario.

Yeah, he deserves to be shamed.

Show me where it says an armed guard at a high school is supposed to stop a mass shooting with a little pistol vs an AR-15.

isn't the difference between an ar 15 and something like a glock not as great as many people believe? could be wrong, not a huge gun guy.

Maybe we shouldn't keep talking about guns in video game terms

Just because it's a rifle does NOT mean it's more powerful than a handgun, and the accuracy at the range he was firing from would not have been a significant difference

I'm speaking in terms of "time I've spent firing on the range"

We can throw the whole 'damage done' out the window, since that's a hard point to really bother arguing, since there's so much involved, but as far as accuracy goes, there really is no comparison. It's hard to any damn thing with a handgun if you're at any distance at all. A rifle makes shooting at range completely trivial.

If I had to just spitball some numbers, I'd say that in my experiences, rifles are about 6x more accurate than handguns.

There's about 8000 total gun murders per year in the USA. 80% of which are conducted by career criminals living in the drug-trade.

That leaves about 2000 random gun murders per year from people who would be traditionally law abiding citizens.

The focus should be on stopping the career criminals and the drug-trade.

"wtf I hate conspiracy theories now"

You can't subscribe to dumb conspiracy theories, then judge others for believing other dumb conspiracy theories.

Some conspiracy theories are more plausbile than others

There's literally zero irrefutable evidence to back up any 9/11 conspiracies, JFK conspiracies, or aliens.

It's not a conspiracy theory if there's irrefutable evidence.

Here's the method I found that worked.

When getting fat, the formula was generally:

Diet = Food + Food + Food

But if you make one small alteration and change it to

Diet = Food + Food - Food

Then you end up losing weight.

It's amazing how little they care about their brand.

Imagine looking at Sonic Forces and saying "Yeah, this is ready to go."

If they had any decency they would have scrapped that game.
